Is this service free?
Yes. Completely free, no sign-up required, funded by on-site ads.
Why do files delete after 3 days by default?
Short-term sharing is the core purpose. Most people only need to send something once, and permanent storage just adds management risk and cost. You can extend the retention manually (up to 30 days / permanent), but we recommend doing so only when you really need it.
I chose “permanent” — why did it still get deleted?
To stop storage filling up with uploaded-and-forgotten videos, a permanent video with no views for 30 consecutive days is downgraded to expire in 90 days. If anyone opens the link during that window, the timer resets.
Can I delete a file after uploading?
Yes. On upload you receive a delete token; visit /d/<token> to remove it anytime. Keep this token safe — without it you cannot delete on your own (unless you contact us).
Is there a file size limit?
Yes. Each file can be up to 700 MB. Compress larger files with another tool first.
How is the view cap counted?
Each time the view page is opened counts as one view (whether or not the media is fully played). Once the cap is reached, the page can no longer be opened.
What is a one-time (one-shot) link?
When enabled, the link can only be opened once. It expires immediately after the first open, regardless of whether the viewer actually played anything — ideal for send-once-then-destroy sharing.
Can you see the contents of my files?
We do not proactively review uploads. But if we receive a DMCA / NCII / CSAM report, we review the reported file and act as required by law. All files are stored on Cloudflare R2, protected by R2 security.
Do you track visitors?
No tracking log. We do not store raw IP addresses — they are hashed for abuse prevention only. There are no analytics or tracking pixels on the sharing flow.
How does drrop make money?
Through ads shown on the site. There are no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and no charge for any feature.
